posted on 2010.07.03 12:15:49 Finally usapl posted my raw American bench masters rec weighed 158lbs did 385 off 1 board then 385 off chest very tough at top lockout was no good ok off chest shirt is stiill too loose in arms need to tighten and also wt was 160 so need to gain a couple of lbs also. |

posted on 2010.06.17 20:57:20 w/u to shirt 365 x 2 2 board easy 385 x1` 1 board not difficult pressed backward to much 405 lost arch with lift off since high rack for me and one side was uneven need lower bench rack weight did not feel heavy jsut uneven. |

posted on 2010.06.09 09:35:04 6/8/10 raw bench 135 w/u 225 x3, 275 x 3, 315 x1 (needed tap again at sticking point) pin press level 8 right above chest about 1-1.5 board 315 x2, 325 x1 bw=160 everything felt heavy only 48 hours since last training also max effort day need speed work for sure.

posted on 2010.05.26 09:44:58 bw still right about 160-162lbs raw bench 275 2 sets of 5 each set last 2 were tough as could be maybee some help at top or midpoint pin press at level about 1 board or less 315 x 2 2 sets push off pins.

posted on 2010.05.17 21:24:46 I have not posted in training log in a while need to catch up busy and now my son has a cold. Still want to do 1 more bb contest still have muscle tech. Finally startecd back in single ply shirt and trying to qualify for a big uspf bench my weight loss and being leaner feel stronger lb for lb howeve at an early weigh in only low carbing and not srarving myself I weighed in at 156 lbs I tried to eat to gain some wt but single ply Katana was still loose I put it on myself and with lifttle help it was was still choking me I ended up with 345 at 156 did 360 fairly easy but beat command on 2rd 2nd attempt touched shirt too high. the 345 was a masters record for 165 single plyweighing 345 but have a lot of work to do to get shirt shrit either need to gain wt or a tighter shirt and scoop neck, Sorry for delay |

Raw American Record
posted on 2010.04.14 08:54:59 I was surprised I found out my bench at Battle of border was enough for a Raw American record. I guess being over 40 had alot to do with it but felt I should have done more but forget the usapl is a very strict lift and if at the bench pause you do not explode it becomes a very tough rep and that happened to me. I weighed in at 158 after a small breakfast I probably should have waited to eat after weigh in and could have been 156 still had a 219 wilkes. good motivation to keep going. |

posted on 2010.04.08 09:23:57 I felt terrible my son was just getting over a cold, I lost my voice mild sore throat but to finally get achance have my wife able to stay with my son while studying for cpa test I had to train. my wt was 158 lbs raw up to 1 single w/300 put shirt on myself no help 315 x 3 shirt was choking me no belt 355 x 2 2 board ez 365 x1 2 board plus 1 no board could not touch but to about a 1 board and both were very easy easier than an opener. so felt good. |

posted on 2010.03.30 20:15:15 I thought I felt good today but a little to low on carbs still benched 275 x3, 300x 1 felt pretty good, then 315 x2 and 2 more sets of singles with 315 need to get used to reps with 315 to bench around 330 goal at bw 165lbs. |

posted on 2010.03.27 11:36:07 It was probably stupid to come in a few days after meet and train above 80% but just felt could have done more at the meet. Flat bench 275 x 3 no leg drive and bad liftoff ahd to try a liftoff 2 times 2nd set 275 x5 much better leg drive 3rd set 275 x4 good set with nothing left was able to get a good clean 4th rep Came back 3 days later close grip 225 x 7 felt easy 275 x3 plus 2 forced reps was heavy but did use real clsoe grip so felt good/ If in 4-5 weeks my raw bench is 320-330 will go to bench nationals/ |

posted on 2010.03.24 20:00:00 It just was not my day and I did not practice pasue enough I ended up with 297.5 at 158 lbs raw for 1st place under 198 lbs by wilkes for masters 40-49 lbs. |

posted on 2010.02.19 21:16:20 2/19.10 was supposed to shirt bench today but training partners are benching tomorrow so since did a raw max effort day tuesday I did repetitian method 185 x 5, 225 x 5 275 x5 first 3 easy last 2 to failure. felt great. triceps 75 lb behind head 3 sets 8-10 reps pushdowns 3 sets, tdb laterals s/s with front laterals 3 sets
