Sumo and Conventional are very close! You're pretty efficient with both of them. But your conventional just looks stronger. I don't know if that counts for much, but there it is....

Have we talked about bringing the bar a little closer to you at the start of your conventional pull? You have a tiny bit of hook, but other than that, it looks mega-strong.

Now that I look a little closer, you can see you looking for the power position in the bottom of your sumo. Of course, that would get better with time.

I guess the question we have to answer is whether that should push us toward or away from sumo!

It's on purpose that I stand about 3" away from the bar when standing up in the conventional pull. What happens is that I can fold my knees more and sit down more directly over the bar; from that position I can exert a much larger force in the very first inch which gives me greater speed when I reach the critical area about 2-3" before my knees.

This is a recent change of mine and it's come out of me always having felt that I have better starting power in the decifit pull.

I've looked at how you pull and your shins are perfectly perpendicular at the very start where mine lean forward (but they are in contact with the bar!).
